Getting Our Priorities Right

Hello, those who have been lost in the fog of allure.
I was just going through the news and I came across some really disappointing things. Not like it is something new, whenever you pick up the newspaper or go to a news website you’re sure to find multiple disgraceful articles. But it bothers me even more today since it is four in the morning and this is the first stuff in my mind. Let’s face it, even you’re reading this but wouldn’t be bothered a few minutes later. However, I am an annoying piece of society. I would do whatever it takes to make you feel concerned for certain things which are entirely wrong in the place where we live. So, the first thing I’d ask you to do for that is open the news feed of your social networking website in one tab, and some real news website in the next. You’ll see two different worlds. One in which we are virtually living, and the one where we really reside but have no clue about. Yes, wake up. We don’t live in a place where everyone goes for a brunch on Sunday or can party on a Friday. Instead, we live where a poor child has to run after us to sell one local packet of pens, to make some small money and fill his or her stomach. We live in a place where some men who look just like every other face, go home and treat their wives like slaves. We reside in a place so much different than the one where we live, a utopia. We see fun fests, glamorous parties, gigs and well built gyms all around us. But if we stay attentive, without letting the reality get filtered while it reaches our brain, on our way to the gym we might find a dismal little pig with a paralysed leg, whimpering in agony.
And maybe, just maybe, we would stop one day and try to comfort that piglet, despite of its dirt and smell, and give it some food. Maybe someday, sitting and talking to that poor little kid about the story of his life would be more pleasing to us than posting a picture on social media. Maybe someday, we would finally get our priorities right.

Not every story has a villain.

For me, this was another headline of this sunshine newspaper which pulled me to the depths of its issue. I am generally touched by the overwhelming emotions of the masses, by the position of the innocent victim, if any. My judgemental yet reasonable mind does not take time to hold the culprit responsible and criticize its deeds and flaws. But this was one of those very few, I underscore, very few cases where the allegations don’t satisfy my conditions to claim a person as an unqualified culprit. Yes, even though my decision is affecting neither the victim nor the culprit, I have to scrutinize every aspect and then form my opinion. However, today there is one thing I am pretty sure of, which is that not every story needs to have a villain.

In this case, a boy committed suicide because he was expelled. The public accuses the institution of not being fair to his caste. The people speak of this mishap as intentional; they say that the boy was forced to end his life.

But here is one strange thing. This young fellow was not thrown out of his college because of his background. It is very specifically stated that the decision had been taken exclusively for his violent deeds. I fail to understand where the criteria of caste emerged from!

The boy might not have been able to tolerate another turn in his life; probably the odds were not in his favour since the beginning of his journey, as he states in his last letter. It indeed is a point of grief. But this does not have anything to do with his background or the personal bias of the authorities. It is a crystal rule that the persons are supposed to live in harmony and not disrupt each other’s well being, let alone abuse or assault. The decision of expulsion from the authorities would have been just the same if a student of some different caste had behaved in a similar manner. This, I can be sure of without being a member of the administration.

I don’t explicitly state the issue I am referring to now, but what I explicitly tell you, my friend, is that this bullshit of casteism needs to stop. We need to accept that every bullet that hits us is targeted at our actions, not our so called social group. I don't stand in a position to declare who is innocent and who is not. But being a citizen of a country which gives me the freedom to express, I will definitely say that accusing people only for the sake of seeing someone punished is utter stupidity.

The moon and the sun

The moon and the sun,
They are exceptionally close to my heart.
Beholding their distinct beauty,
I feel like I am having the time of my life.
But it frightens me,how when I close my eyes,
I find them right in front.
I see these gigantic stars persuading my spirit to take a step forward and touch their glory,
But alas, the ground ends right where I stand
And all I understand in this surreal moment is that no matter how closely I see them,
I will never be with these parts of my life.Displaying Aviary Photo_130990433590043572(1).jpg

Creating our own fantasies

I have no clue what you talk about when you speak of forever and eternity,
It is not known to me to what depths you believe in your own words,
But at times I wish we could only cherish this moment's serendipity.
Yet what I wish and what my mind is tempted to think are far away destinations;
It moulds and shapes our transient future a little too many times,
While my humble heart silently asks for salvations.
It frequently scares me to have so much credence,

I doubt if this fantasy merely makes my heart vulnerable, while it tries to keep it satiated.
Still,I remind myself of how this very fantasy also makes me reach the heavens,
And how the vague thought of holding this little dream with you unshattered keeps my existence enchanted.

The movie has just started!

Today every fourth teenager is found lamenting. No, the crib is not primarily about study stress or sibling fights. It is the social crisis what they feel they are going through. And the best part is that they think they are the only ones facing such situations. The naïve grownups thus spend their days feeling sorry for themselves,
analysing pointless incidents and judging the people they won’t even see after a few years. Honestly, what’s the point?
It’s the age of jumping at rousing gigs and concocting outstanding ventures! It’s about jiggling around while the deejay plays all the songs except the one you requested him for. It’s about craving to read the novel everyone is lauding and learning to bake cookies during the vacations.
In previous times, youngsters used to cycle their way back home across the city together. When the lights went out at night, everybody used to play hide and seek. Yes, the temperature might have gotten annoying, but who cares when you are merrily occupied! Alas, if the light goes out tonight, everyone would be dismayed because it might hinder them from having a very serious chat with a friend; which would be about nothing but an everyday issue. But they would definitely perceive it as an end of something. Forget racing on the bicycle, half of them cannot even walk to a destination without speaking of their ‘life problems’, which are mere misunderstandings.
The only way to live nonchalantly for these green people is to be clear on their part. Someone has a problem with them? They may go and speak to that person about it. They like something about a person? They may compliment that person upon it. There is no need to withhold anything since all of them are souls from the same golden ocean. There is enough tension waiting for them in the coming years. As they grow up, the afflictions may proliferate with the responsibilities. Those conditions will indeed be unavoidable. But the current ones are! If pondering about something does not make them happy and it won’t even make a difference to their future life, it does not deserve their time and precious thoughts. Many of them are frequently anxious that one of their dear one is going to cut off. It needs to be understood that those who are meant to last will last. Because no matter how hard they try, life will do its job anyway.
Tears are not shed unless the bright moving scene takes place. Since life is no less than a motion picture and all people are playing their part, they must play it gratefully! The movie which has merely begun and all the characters are distressed seems dull. Thus, it is way better to focus on revitalizing each character. Life does not disappoint people, people get disappointed with life. This too is completely in their hands at what age they want this. Yes, “want”. Because those who don’t want to experience despair don’t experience it; those people know it would just stop them from seeking wild happiness. And what wild happiness really is, they only know when they experience it!
